Review
One of only a few legitamate first-person shooters to ever be released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Jurassic Park by Ocean combined the fantastic characters and plot from the Michael Crichton book and Steven Spielberg film and puts the player into Jurassic Park.
Players take the role of Dr. Alan Grant, a dinosaur expert and researcher, and drops you right into the middle of the already torn apart Jurassic Park. Players must travel through the game collecting raptor eggs, killing dinosaurs, and finding keycards to open locked doors throughout the park. This can be quite frustrating, as many cards are located in the same buildings, but require the player to travel across the map to locate others. While a majority of the game (the outdoor environments) were seen from a top down, third person view, when a player entered a building or room the view shifted to first person. The game also took advantage of the mouse accessory for the Super Nintendo, making it one of the few console first-person shooters to allow either a mouse or a controller to be used.
The Jurassic Park Soundtrack features many upbeat songs with the "ancient" sounds common to the films. Wind instruments and drums are common as well.
