Considered by many as one the true sequel to Goldeneye 007, Rare’s Perfect Dark succeeded its predecessor tenfold.
Featuring a remarkable arsenal of weapons (on top of the unlockable Goldeneye weapons) as well as dozens of missions to complete, incredible cinematic displays, and hours of voice work, Perfect Dark was certainly an achievement. It also took advantage of Nintendo’s Expansion Pack for the Nintendo 64, which without, only multiplayer deathmatches would be available.
The Perfect Dark Soundtrack is, well, dark. It’s very chilling but at the same time it does a great job of showing how the main character Joanna is strong and courageous. Eerie music for moments where storming a room with dual guns blazing is not the best idea is just one type of music featured, while there’s plenty of action sequences to be had in this game, most denoted with the letter “X” next to them in the soundtrack.
